Residential Map Examples

Before Reedsburg Utility / LightSpeed can begin underground construction, we require the property owner or authorized representative, to supply a map showing relative locations of all private facilities and equipment in potential construction paths. These private facilities may include sprinkler systems, sewer or water lines, existing telecom lines, underground electrical wiring, lawn lighting, propane lines, underground dog fencing, or any other electrical lines beyond your meter.

RUC and/or our contractors will not be responsible for damage to underground utilities that have not been shown on the owner provided map/sketch prior to start of work.  Please make sure to include the home, all unattached buildings and driveways.

Examples of Supplied Residential Maps

Above is an example of a hand-drawn map.   This black & white pencil sketch is a suitable submission with all structures labeled and all lines called out.

Above is another good example of a hand-drawn map but with color coded lines showing the relative locations of the sewer, water, electric and old phone lines.  

The above example was supplied with the aerial photo taken from Google Maps / Earth.   The residential homeowner then had drawn the relative lines on the map before supplying to the utility.
